BlessedНамуна

God wanted His people, the people He chose to be His, to be blessed. So He told Aaron and his sons, the priests, to raise their hands and speak a blessing over God’s people. And God told Aaron exactly what to say. So when God writes the blessing, this is how it goes: “‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace’” (Numbers 6:24-26).
So what does being blessed look like according to the Lord? It looks like being close to Him. Our biggest blessing is when we press in and are close to Him. We know this to be true. Have you ever felt a greater blessing than when you were close to the Lord? Isn’t that when your heart burns? Jesus echoed the same idea when He was on earth that closeness to God is life. He said: “This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3). Jesus said that eternal life is to know Him. Do we want blessing? He is the blessing. There is no greater blessing—knowing Him and being close to Him. It is life that never ends itself.

About this Plan

Our view of blessed is often tethered to a continually changing spectrum—our circumstances. If life is good, in our view, we’re blessed. If life isn’t going well, in our view, we’re not blessed. But is our definition of blessed the same as God’s? We’ll look at how God defines “blessed.” It turns out, we’re very likely missing how “blessed” we all are—regardless of what’s going on around us.
