RevelationНамуна

There is no temple in the new city, and there isn’t a specific place within the city where God lives. Not only is the temple no longer needed, even the sun and the moon are no longer needed as God will be the light.
“The city itself is not a tableau, a static picture with people simply gazing at the glorious golden streets or indeed at God himself and the Lamb. It is a bustling community, filled with activity, as the nations come to worship and do homage” (NT Wright – Revelation For Everyone).
We see in this chapter that our nourishment comes from water and fruit. The Water of Life flows like a liquid, from the city to the world around it. The Tree of Life, which was forbidden to Adam and Eve in the garden, will exist to provide healing for the nations. With God’s presence, we see a new Eden where a garden and a city come together united as humanity exercises stewardship over the earth and its fruits.

About this Plan

The apocalypse ("uncovering" in Greek) that John receives reveals the nature of the world as it is and will one day be. Amidst all of the cosmic imagery is a Lamb and its army who conquer through the power of sacrificial love. This 8-week plan is written by the church and for the church as we seek to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
