5 Pillars of Disciple-MakingНамуна

The Finance Cup
Money is a direct window into your heart. Scripture says it well in Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Money is the third most taught about subject by Jesus! How we make money, spend it, or save it reveals much about our relationship with God. Learning to allow God to have control over our money is a critical step in our growth as a disciple of Jesus.
Be ready to share financial struggles and moments of breakthrough in your own financial life.
- What is Jesus' attitude about money?
- What should be our view of money?
- Do you really believe that God, not money, is your source?
- How do you approach work?
- Do you do your work unto the glory and pleasure of the Lord, or do you just work to earn a paycheck?
- What has God taught you about tithing?
- What are your financial and giving goals?
- How is the Holy Spirit teaching you to care for your finances properly?
Money is necessary in life, but often, we put too much emphasis on it. Money becomes our security, rather than the Lord. In our lives we look at money as our measure of success, and we love it more than we should. We have to create a right relationship with finances in order to fully serve the Lord to the best of our ability. Jobs and money are necessary, but Jesus is our ultimate source. We should work hard and diligently in our jobs because this glorifies the Lord, and He has asked us to work unto Him. It is all for His glory, not for the highest paycheck.
Application:
- What does the Apostle Paul teach us about money in 2 Corinthians 9:6–11?
- Have you placed your security in your money and job or in Jesus?
