Unbreakable: Surviving Life's TrialsНамуна

Day 2: Bad Influences
I lived somewhat of a sheltered childhood. I was short on life experiences. You could say (and I’m sure some did) that I was naïve. I married early, at age 23, and that was where my understanding of life began. My childhood friends had all scattered, moving on with their own lives, and my husband’s friends (now ex-husband) became my friends as well. They were an interesting group of misfits, and they knew way more about the vices of life than I did. During this time (over 20 years ago now), I learned my fair share about illegal drugs, illegal activities, and sexual immorality. My faith was present but dormant. I only had a surface-level understanding of my faith, and the only thought regarding my spiritual life at this time was, “I can’t continue living like this.”
BE UNBREAKABLE!
When something inside tells you, “This is not how you should be living,” you better trust it’s the Holy Spirit nudging you to change. Look to God to pull you out of the pit you’re in. Take the steps needed to get out ASAP! Bad influences can come in many forms. Your journey won’t be easy when you choose to leave the crowd. You’ll be teased, disowned, slandered, and betrayed.
The Lord never promised believers an easy road, only salvation is promised when we believe. True belief changes us and deepens our desire to please God – not the world. Your Creator has given you all the strength and power you need to make the right choices. He will protect you if you call on His name. Choose to please Christ!
