Jehovah: A Name of GodНамуна

The last name we're going to look at is Jehovah Jireh, pronounced juh-ho-vuh ji-reh. It is found one time in Genesis 22:14 and means "The Lord Will Provide."
Genesis 22:13-14 says, "And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah Jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen."
God presented a substitute so Abraham did not have to sacrifice his son. He gave us a substitute too – His own Son. Jesus Christ died on the cross, making the ultimate sacrifice, and took the judgment for our sin. He did this because He loves us so much. Today, I challenge you to share that love with someone else. Think of a way you can do something for someone simply because you love them. It honors God when we provide for His other children.
Read Genesis 22 for more context around this name.
