Finding True PeaceНамуна

Can peace help me sleep better?
We are very vulnerable while we sleep.
To go to sleep each night is an act of faith in a lot of ways. There is a part of our brains that immobilizes us while we dream. It’s true. If the brain is doing its job, it creates a paralysis that keeps us from running around the house during a nightmare.
We know what it’s like to not have a peaceful night’s sleep. We toss and turn, too hot, too cold. It’s miserable. And sleep we must. It’s when we heal, grow, rejuvenate. We must have it.
Praying before we sleep isn’t just for little children. It’s acknowledging this essential and vulnerable thing called sleep and asking God to watch over us in peace.
Act
Kneel on a pillow by your bed tonight and pray for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Pray
God, I can trust you while I sleep and while I dream. Amen.
Scripture
About this Plan

If there is one thing this world never offers us, it’s lasting peace. The peace you need, the kind that’s lasting and deep and eternal, is only available by believing in Jesus who died on the cross to bring us close to God. In him you'll find true, lasting, perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
