Every Woman's Story: PeaceНамуна

How does God speak peace?
Sometimes we fear that if we draw near to God, he will berate us for what we have done wrong, like a parent scolding a child. Often that’s more about the guilt we feel than what God wants to impart to us.
He doesn’t audibly speak peace to us, but he does invite us into a relationship of peace with him: part mystery, part prayer, part silence. But peace is guaranteed. If you want to hear someone clearly, it may take your full attention.
It’s no different with God. He wants our full attention, too. You will be amazed at the peace that comes from turning your heart and mind to him alone, even for five minutes.
Act
Set a timer for five minutes, and just sit quietly with God.
Pray
God, I want you to speak peace over my life this way. Meet me in the silence. Amen.

About this Plan

When life gets to be too much, we start scrambling for peace. We look for something, anything, that will stop the feeling of being overwhelmed. We often look for peace in the wrong places. It never lasts. Most of it does harm. God isn’t stingy with peace. Like a cool sip of water on a hot day, he will refresh us amid the overwhelming and the hard.
