People of Light, People of Darkness: The Last Apostle | 1 John 4:1-6Намуна

We’ve seen that not everyone is of the Spirit of God. John’s listeners faced it. We face it too. John can’t stress it enough. The Spirit of God acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in the flesh and is from God. People of light and life are rooted in Jesus – who he is, what he did, his death, and resurrection. People of darkness and death are not. This is not the end-all, be-all litmus test for discerning everything, but it’s certainly the foundation upon which everything else is built.

About this Plan

John, the last living apostle, wrote a Gospel. And it seems some people were distorting it. John writes to believers caught in the aftermath, bringing clarity and commentary on what he wrote. He shows them what it looks like to be people of light and life instead of people of death and darkness. This plan takes us through 1 John and how to live in the face of distorted Christianity.
