P.S. It's Gonna Be Good - How God's Word Answers Our Questions About Faith, Fear and All the ThingsНамуна

How Could God Ever Flip This For Good?
In times of trouble, it’s easy to ask . . .
How could God ever redeem this diagnosis?
How could He ever flip the script of my family’s dysfunction?
How could He twist this broken relationship, debt, heartache, or disappointment for my good and His glory?
Turn to the Bible, though, and men and women all throughout its pages didn’t have it easy. Quite the opposite, they faced very hard, scary things: Daniel was thrown into a den full of hungry lions, Paul was beaten and locked in prison, and the early church faced real persecution.
But we don’t see Daniel focusing on the roaring of the lions.
We don’t pick up on Paul staring helplessly at the bricks of his prison cell either.
And the early church? Acts 12:5 reminds us they never gave up praying fervently.
So how’d they do it? When they sat in the middle of their stories and their situations seemed so bleak, disappointing, stressful, and scary?
Flip to the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11, and we see what marked every Bible hero. They chose to believe their circumstances did not hold the final say, they remained confident that there was more to their situation than what met the eye, and they trusted that God would take care of them no matter what. And because of that, “by faith these people . . . received what God had promised them” (Hebrews 11:33).
It may not look great today.
The trajectory for tomorrow may look even worse.
But for those who hope in Christ, redemption is coming for us too.
Like the very first Easter, hang tight in the Friday of suffering and watch expectantly in the Saturday of waiting . . . because Resurrection Sunday is coming. We will still see our Savior save, and all thanks to Romans 8:28, we know it’s not only going to be okay, but . . .
