Letters to My DaughterНамуна

Day Four – Memorizing Scripture
My Daughter,
Happy, Happy Sunday! God is awake and moving on earth. He wants you to be His hands, feet, eyes, and ears today, so be wherever He is today!
Here’s a scripture I want you to meditate on today
“…Keep the words and treasure up my commandments with you; keep my commandments and live; keep my teachings as the apple of your eye; bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.”
Proverbs 7:1-3
Here is a question I’d like you to ask yourself…
When was the last time you memorized a scripture?
What was it?
Why did you memorize it?
Psalm 119:11 states, “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
When I was your age (about 20 years old), I memorized so much scripture but didn’t realize two important facts:
1.This time was the most time I would ever have to myself before getting married and having children – and a family to lead. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)
2.These scriptures would grow inside of me and give life to others in a moment’s notice one-on-one, while teaching/preaching or writing. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
The word you memorize strengthens you and gives the Holy Spirit something tangible to work with. You deserve the word swimming in your spirit.I strongly encourage you to memorize scripture.
Scripture memorization is like saving money for the long term, and it pays dividends every season of your life!
Love you much!
Dad
