Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 6:18-24.
Paul asks the Ephesians to pray for his preaching of the word of God. Would you take time right now to pray for your pastor? Use these verses to guide your prayer. Would you choose a day of the week to pray for him regularly?
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day. Ephesians 6:18 "Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints."
WATER THE SEED
How does Paul want you to pray? Taking this scripture to heart, what would you need to do to come up under this command? What adjustments do you need to make in your prayer life? May I ask you to pray for me? Also, may I ask you to pray that I would walk in a manner worthy of the gospel, pleasing God in every respect? And would you pray that I would teach God's word with accuracy, with power, and without compromise, in the Spirit and power of God? Thank you!
BEAR THE FRUIT
Pray at all times and keep alert.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

About this Plan

The Bible uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day devotional uses the metaphor of a garden for growing in Christ. You will be given seeds of truth (Scripture), instructions for planting (taking it to heart), and watering (application) that seed. The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord.
