SIN KILLS | GOD'S WAY BRINGS LIFE

Proverbs is straightforward; it doesn't beat around the bush. It paints the picture for us to pursue godly wisdom, and it also lets us know what happens when we don't. This is abundantly clear in the area of sexuality.

Proverbs 7 paints a clear picture for us. After talking for a few chapters all about pursuing godly wisdom, chapter 7 tells us to keep God's commands and we will live, because wisdom will keep us far away from the "adulterous woman." The "adulterous woman" is a picture of lust and sexual sin.

The next few verses give us a picture of someone's life being ruined by sexual sin. This chapter ends with a warning to not let ourselves become captive to lust.

God wants us to have a sobering awareness that the trap of lust and sexual sin will destroy our lives. God's way is so much greater as we pursue His wisdom in this area of our lives!

And the great thing about God is this: if we repent and turn from our sin, he is always there to meet us with his mercy & forgiveness.
