Prayer: A Beautiful String of PearlsНамуна

Speak, Lord, For Your Servant is Listening
Conversation is a two-way street. But for most people, conversation with God looks more like a one-way road. Often we do almost all of the talking but struggle to create space to listen to what God wants to say to us. But for our relationship with God to mature towards intimacy, we need a healthy balance of talking and listening.
The prophet Samuel provides a beautiful example of what an intimate relationship with God can look like when we center our entire lives around the discipline of prayer. From a very young age, Samuel postured himself in the presence of God, ready to listen and obey what God had to say. Throughout his life, God would use Samuel in mighty ways. He was a judge over Israel, a prophetic voice to the nation during times of unrest, and the one who would anoint David as Israel's next king.
Please never forget you are a child of God and dearly loved. God wants to hear from you! I promise you He does. He longs for you to tell Him about every aspect of your day - your family, your work, your interests, and everything else in between. Just make sure that as you pour out your heart to Jesus, you leave enough space to listen to what He has to say to you. Because I promise He has a lot to say.
