40 Days of Prayer & FastingНамуна

Fasting Produces Humility
Humility Is the first and primary character of Jesus. Pride Is the first and primary character of Satan. Fasting is the pursuit of humility, and it keeps you from exalting yourself. When you are fasting, you are denying yourself—it keeps you from feeling great. In other words, fasting humbles you. It will keep you from thinking you are great and will expose your pride and your entitlement. In our weakness and humility, God’s strength and power are made perfect. Fasting will sustain the humility in you to keep doing what God is asking you to do.
Prayer: Lord, how can I pursue humility today? What areas of my life are consumed with pride? What pride in me has gone undetected? Search my heart and heal my prideful ways. I don’t want to be great in my own eyes, I only want to be obedient and to please You. You modeled humility for us, so teach me how to be humble. I want to sustain Your greatness, so I make myself low. I magnify You above myself and acknowledge that I have no greatness without You. You are Holy and worthy and there is none like You. Amen.

About this Plan

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that calls us to deny the desires of our flesh and fill ourselves up with God, His Word, and His presence. Over the next 40 days, we will grow in intimacy with God, position ourselves to be in His perfect will, and learn about His dunamis power in our daily personal encounters.
