Expecting the One With Many NamesНамуна

EXPECTATION OF THE ONE WHO CHANGES NOT!
In the following passage, Jesus was referred to as the ‘Consolation of Israel.' It is yet another tremendous descriptive word of who Jesus is, for He came to console, to remove the grief of Israel, and He Comforts with Consolation all who come to Him.
“Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the 'consolation of Israel,' and the Holy Spirit was on him.” Luke 2:25
We can take great comfort and consolation knowing that our foundation is not something that shifts and changes with every doctrine, but on the One ‘Chief Cornerstone,’ Jesus, who changes not.
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as ‘the chief cornerstone.”Ephesians 2:19-20
Calling Jesus the 'Dayspring' means dawn! How wonderfully beautiful to know that we have Him as the dayspring in our lives with the dawning of each new day!
“To give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, with which ‘the Dayspring’ from on high [b]has visited us; to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:77-79
‘The Deliverer’ is another perfect name for Jesus, as He came to deliver you and me from the snares of Satan.
“And so, all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, there shall come out of Zion ‘the Deliverer,’ and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.” Romans 11:26
LET US PAUSE:
In today’s advent pause, think of ways Jesus has consoled you or a loved one. Why not develop a list? Every new dawn that we wake up, we should praise Him because He has delivered us!
About this Plan

Jesus was born over 2000 years ago! His Mother, Mary, was expecting the birth of her son Incarnate! Today, we too are 'expecting' Jesus, not as a baby, but as the One honored with so many names. In this 27-day Advent Devotional, let us go more profound as we discover Jesus through His many names that reveal His character! He is our soon-coming King!
