Exploring God’s World With God’s Word: 5 Days of Biblical AdventuresНамуна

What’s the longest trip you’ve ever taken? Did you travel by bus, car, or plane? What about 800 miles of walking and riding on camelback? That’s even longer than the distance between New York City and Chicago. It would take 267 hours to walk, 32 hours on camelback, 53 hours to bike, and 2 hours to fly. That’s how far the wise men traveled to worship Jesus after his birth. With no GPS to lead the way, the wise men followed a rising star to Jerusalem and Bethlehem to find Jesus and his family.
And we haven’t even gotten to the secret mission!
As the wise men stopped in Jerusalem, King Herod gave them special instructions to report Jesus’ location to him. While King Herod intended to kill the baby Jesus, God sent the wise men a dream to warn them to return home a different way.
No matter where you roam, the dedication and hope that guided the wise men can guide us too. As we keep our hearts open to hear God’s Word and will for us, who knows what sorts of adventures will find us?
