Year of the Bible: Part Six of Twelve Намуна

Loyalty: God's Desire for Each of Us
Theologian and Bible teacher Dr. Michael Heiser describes God's desire for each of us: to bear the fruit of "believing loyalty." The God of the whole Bible is looking for those who will remain loyal to His Lordship and obey His rules for a relationship. One of these rules is to "have no other gods before Him."
In this part of Israel's story, we see divided loyalty. Jehu showed some loyalty by destroying the worshipers of Baal, but he was not singularly loyal to Jehovah. Jehu's partial loyalty gave him a son to sit on his throne, but it also led to the removal of all Israel from the promised land, which God had assured would happen if Israel did not follow Jehovah exclusively.
Question: How are you displaying your loyalty to God? Have you found the joy of trusting in God during all circumstances?
Prayer: Grant the Lord of Lords and King of Kings access to all your heart. Ask Him to search out any area of disloyalty. If you find some, do not despair but simply recognize your error, seek His forgiveness, and commit your loyalty to Jesus again.
