The Growing FaithНамуна

PUT “ME” TO DEATH
When you are not hurt and offended yet rejoice even though you are forgotten, ignored, belittled, or deliberately neglected by other people – that's when you put your "I" to death. The same things happen when you are not angry or try to defend yourself even though other people slander your good deeds or speak badly about your good deed. You put your "I" to die when you accept all of those with great patience and compassion.
We have put our "I" to death when we know how to endure with love and patience about any situation that is less orderly. We have also put our "I" to death when we can never try to stand out for ourselves even though those around us are careless and late, do annoying things, or waste time & energy doing inappropriate and outrageous things.
We have also put our "I" to death when we do not turn people's attention to ourselves when we speak. We do not want to be praised but enjoy being unknown. We can receive rebuke from someone younger or those whose position is considered inferior to ours.
