Getting to Know the ProphetsНамуна

Isaiah
Stephanie Williford was my friend. She was also the absolute best Girls’ Minister in the country! I wish we had been given more time with her, but the Lord chose to call her home in February 2022. At her celebration of life service, Isaiah 41:10 was shared: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Originally this message was declared to Judah in anticipation of a time in the future when God would restore them from their soon-to-come exile in Babylon. They would endure struggle, loss, and captivity, but Isaiah prophesied God would not leave them. They were not without hope. At times we may feel God is far from us. The internal narrative in our head may prey on our weakness and cause us to feel bound in a cycle of defeat. Let the words of our Lord, through Isaiah, serve as a reminder that we don't have to live in fear. God is with us, offering us His presence, strength, and help.
1. Have you ever felt captive to your circumstances or negative thoughts? How could Isaiah 41:10 change your perspective?
2. God is with us. When and where do you feel God’s presence in your life?
Prayer: Father, thank You for being with us in the difficulty and messiness of life and for offering hope amidst our struggles.
