A Fourth-Day Man: Death UndoneНамуна

Suffering and death are realities every day, every hour. Though death is a reality, it is also an enigma. The Scriptures illuminate this potentially troublesome idea for us, and John chapter 11 specifically gives us great insight. In fact, the entire book of John was written so that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing on Him, we might have life through His name.
We view death through our ordinary, earthly eyes. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can study this chapter of Scripture and instead see death as an enemy that will ultimately be defeated. We will examine three enigmas (from our perspective) and three encounters in John 11. As you read and think through this biblical account, ask yourself: “Have I found life through Christ’s name?”

About this Plan

Spend seven days with Dr. Ramesh Richard, president of RREACH (a Global Proclamation Ministry) and professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, as he offers pastoral insights on the reality of death. Though each of us is certain to face death, a Christian’s hope is in Christ—he who lives and believes in Him will never die. Do you believe this?
