Daily Bible Reading – January 2022: God’s Renewing Word of Unity in Christ JesusНамуна

January 14
Introduction
Today’s reading begins with Paul explaining why he did not wish to visit the Corinthians but chose to write to them instead. He then addresses a particular situation that resulted from one person attacking Paul and his teachings, and he encourages the Corinthians to forgive that person.
Scripture Reading
2 Corinthians 2:1-11
Today’s Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 2:10a
[Paul writes:] When you forgive people for what they have done, I forgive them too.
Reflect
What advice does Paul give the Corinthians concerning forgiveness (verses 7, 8)? Have you ever experienced a situation in which one person disagreed with other group members? If so, how did the group respond? How did you feel in that situation?
Pray
God of mercy and forgiveness, at times, it can be hard to forgive those with whom I have had differences. Forgive me for the times when I have failed to forgive others. Make me mindful of Paul’s message today. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
2 Corinthians 2:12-17: The apostle Paul describes believers’ victory through Christ.
