EkklesiaНамуна

We’ve talked about what the word “church” means and the fact that the church is a global movement, not just a building. But why was the church invented? Why couldn’t believers of Jesus just trust him and then live on their own? The truth is that we were created to do life together, and because of that, we cannot be part of the church on our own. Jesus said that when two or three people gather together, he will be there with them. Jesus was saying that when we meet together, our gathering belongs to him. We are his church, gathered together to worship him. We represent Christ when we meet together as his church. It is crucial that when you choose to trust Jesus, you also commit to spending time with other believers and making it a priority to join the community of the church. It’s easy to want to figure things out on our own, but God designed us to live life in community and to be active members of a whole body of the church.
Challenge: Get involved in your local church today! That might mean committing to go to the gathering on the weekend, spending time with your small group, or heading to a gathering of younger believers during the week. We were not meant to do life alone!
