Advent in Israel: The Places of Israel & the Story of JesusНамуна

Day 2 - Caesarea Maritima
This port city was famous in the ancient world for its modern conveniences. From here you could sail to almost anywhere in the Roman empire. This port was the place where the gospel of Jesus was launched out to the rest of the world. The port city's existence was the means that God used to spread the gospel fair and wide. Jesus had risen, and after His death came persecution; that persecution drove the people out of Jerusalem to the rest of the world. The gospel spread like wildfire, and the world was never the same. The birth of a baby in a small town in Bethlehem changed the world forever.
The resurrection of Jesus gives us a hope we cannot contain. As you gather with family this year, how will you spread this hope to those around you?
About this Plan

As we enter the Christmas season, we are all eager to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the point in history where God descended into humanity to bring life to a broken world. Each day leading up to Christmas, we will provide an overview of the biblical significance of a location in Israel, along with a devotional prompt that will connect that location with the life of Jesus in Scripture.
