Who Am I? - Part 2Намуна

Blessed to Bless
Anointing has the idea of being filled with and blessed by the Holy Spirit.
Shepherds in the olden days had the practice of anointing their sheep. Insects of all kinds would often get into the wool of sheep and when they got near the sheep’s head, they could burrow into the sheep’s ears and kill the sheep. So, shepherds poured oil on the sheep’s head, making the wool slippery and making it impossible for the insects to get near the sheep’s ears. From this, anointing became symbolic of blessing, protection, and empowerment.
Anointing means to be blessed with oil. John refers to the anointing of the Holy Spirit for all believers. The anointing of the Holy Spirit gives all believers the resources for knowing the truth. We know some things intuitively by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Anointed also means to be chosen. Jesus was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit to bring the Good News and to set the captives free from sin (Luke 4:18-19). All Christians, are anointed and sealed by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 1:21-22) for God’s kingdom purposes.
You are blessed to make the Gospel known.
Lord enable me to be a channel of blessing as your anointed child, I pray.
