Reflect
During PT, or during a training exercise, I give my all. My body may be exhausted and my mind expended, but I keep going. I'm full of adrenaline. I am pumped. I give everything I've got! There's no energy left to focus on anything else at the time. Similarly, this passage describes living for Jesus as running towards him, leaving everything else behind. It's exhilarating to race toward the goal. How does Paul describe the things he gave up when he became a Christian? What should be the focus of our lives? What does Paul warn will happen if I ignore Jesus?
Respond
Lord, I race towards you. I leave everything meaningless behind. I long to reach the goal. Guide me. Amen.
