Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

DAY 4 OF 54

Following God and living out His Word comes with great sacrifice. Many times, believers will feel alienated from family, friends, and coworkers. We may be persecuted for worshipping Jesus Christ and for defending the Word of God. We may be spoken against and misrepresented by those in higher positions of authority at work, in our government, and even in our families and communities. However, we must remain faithful, clinging to the Word of God as our anchor. We must stand firm without fear, because we rest in the knowledge that this earth and our journey in it is temporary. What hesitation or fear prevents you from sharing, spreading, and defending the Word of God? What promises of God will you cling to when facing that fear? Father God, I thank You that Your perfect love combats all of my fears. Strengthen my heart when I am confronted and attacked by those who oppose You. Generate in me a fierce passion for Your Word such that I do not hesitate to defend it boldly and fearlessly. Remind me that whatever I am threatened with losing is nothing compared to what I gain with You for eternity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

Woven throughout this longest chapter of the Bible are beautiful character qualities of Scripture, reminding us that God’s Word is sufficient, truthful, pure, authoritative, and unchanging. But when we look to God himself – we see how his character is reflected in this chapter as well. This Bible study gives us a glimpse into the beauty, importance, and usefulness of Scripture, prompting us to walk away more in love with God and his Word, more aware of our sin, and more in awe of our great Savior and his sacrifice on our behalf.
