Making Your Most Important Choice
We all must make choices. The biggest choice you must make is what kind of life you will live. Will you make choices that lead to a healthy, godly life, or will you make choices that lead to an empty, lonely life full of despair? Will you follow God’s will or your own? Will you be a person of integrity and believe in God’s vision for you?
God wants you to know Him and to love Him. That is His number one goal for you. Jesus said that we must love God and each other (Matthew 22:37–40). Those are the greatest commands in the Bible.
Jesus came to teach us how to love God and others. The Bible says if we say Jesus is Lord and believe God raised Him from death, we will be saved. Read Romans 10:8–13. Think about these questions as you read:
- What does it mean to say someone is “Lord”?
- In what ways is Jesus different from any human ruler?
- What does it mean to trust in the Lord? (Romans 10:11–13)
- What would it have meant for Jesus’ followers to say “Jesus is Lord” when that was the term used for the Roman ruler? (Romans 10:9)
Make It Personal
- What are other “lords” in the world today besides Jesus?
- How is Jesus different from them?
- What does it mean for you to say openly that “Jesus is Lord”?
- Will you choose to say that? Will you choose to trust Jesus as the Lord of your life? Will you choose to believe He is Lord over everyone and everything?
- How can you show God and other people that you have made this choice?
We hope this Bible study plan encouraged you and that you will connect with other followers of Jesus in a church where you can grow in your relationship with him.
