Changed: A 5-Day TransformationНамуна

DAY 3 – Welcome Change
So far, we’ve established that God created you with “wonderful” in mind and that you have a God-given purpose. You may be asking the question: What if I’m not so hot right now? What if I’m mean and snarky and sometimes really hate who I am?
Then it’s time to regain the picture of what God intends for your life.
Life “happens” and sometimes it gets the better of us. Has someone broken a promise to you? Have you been lied to or abused? It’s easy to grow bitter and even hateful in those situations.
Take a minute now to talk to God about these situations. If someone has harmed you, acknowledge the pain.
It’s okay to admit you’re hurting – but it’s not okay to be bitter and unforgiving. Read what God’s word says:
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14, 15 NLT
To really change and become the person God has called you to be, you’ll need to forgive those who have harmed you or dealt unjustly with you in any way.
This does not mean we are saying that what they did was okay. This does not negate the real pain you have felt.
Forgiveness is releasing that person out of your grip and into God’s hands. It must be done for you to have real peace and joy, despite the past. It may not be easy, but you don’t have to do this alone. Ask for God’s help to forgive and let go.
Start with this simple prayer and set aside extra time now or later today to really spend with God for a deep, healing work of his Spirit in you. You can do this. You can forgive and be free from the past.
Pray it: Dear God, please heal me from all the hurt and deep wounds in my heart. I forgive ____________ (name those who have harmed you) now, releasing them into your hands. I trust you to watch over my soul. In Jesus name, amen.
Say it: I can forgive and be free from the past.
Do it: It can be healing to share your pain with the right person. Talk to your parents or seek out a pastor or a counselor who can help you walk through it and receive God’s healing.
