John

Near the end of his life, John was the last of the living apostles and wrote a story about Jesus. It’s his testimony of who Jesus is, what he said, what he did, and who he claimed to be. Jesus has a story. He invites us to make it our story. When we make Jesus’s story our story, we have life in his name. This plan focuses on John 14 and Jesus's words of encouragement in the face of suffering, death, and separation of what awaits. It is part of an ongoing series through John.

Luke's Gospel showcases Jesus' humanity as God-man, emphasizing compassion and relatability. It introduces famous parables like the Prodigal Son and Good Samaritan. With more details on Jesus' birth, Luke provides a clear mission statement. In contrast, John's Gospel adopts a unique style, featuring "I AM" statements and focusing on signs. Its purpose is to foster belief in Jesus as the Son of God for eternal life.

The resolve of the blind man in John 9 invites us to believe God’s ultimate truth: He knows and cares about our plight. Trust Jesus to show up and give us His best. Christ can turn our life’s course, and teach our hearts to say yes!
