Any grieving process is painful. But if you are facing the loss of a loved one, the Bible says God is ‘near to the broken-hearted’ (Psalm 34:18 ESVUK), and He is able to carry you through the process of grieving. This is the seventh part of a reading plan through the Bible, following the lectionary pattern of reading in the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament each day. In addition, each day this month will feature a memorization challenge for Joshua 1:6-9 and 24:14-15, and there will be brief devotionals from different people in our Church scattered throughout the plan.

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.

By the end of 30 days, you will have read from each of the 7 different sections of the Bible. You will also have finished an entire book of the Bible that was written by one of Jesus' closest followers.
