Jesus Heals Many Who Touch His Garment
Jesus radiated such power that people were healed by just touching the edge of His cloak. The source of His power, in spite of His being all human while being all divine, was His constant communion with the Father. Just before this time of landing at Gennesaret, He was up in the mountains praying alone. He comes down, walks on water and then reaches the shore. He was God in the flesh and so had supreme power working in Him, yes, but being human meant that He also experienced the fatigue and weakness that we feel. The way that He stayed charged up to heal, deliver and minister to people was found in His times of quiet intimacy with God the Father. It was in those times that He strengthened himself and heard what was on the Father’s heart for each day. Jesus lived surrendered to His Father’s will which also made incredible power available to Him.
What if each of us lived each day with such a commitment to connect with the Father? Remember that with Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have the same power that was at work in Him to raise him from the dead, within us today and every day.
If prayer is how this power is activated, why are we not more disciplined in our prayer life?
If living a life that is wholly surrendered to Him is key to the harnessing of this power, what’s preventing us from laying our lives down before Him?
To live a powerful life, one that radiates the power and presence of God, we must be solely led by the Holy Spirit. He alone enables us to pray with wordless groans according to the will of the Father, and He makes us aware of our boundless inheritance in Jesus. This gives you insight into all that you have access to and helps you live with a renewed spiritual authority.
As you lean in to experience the power of God, would you ask Him to fill you with His power so that all who encounter you experience Him?
