UNFRUITFUL TREE
In Matthew and Mark we see parallel stories of Jesus cursing an unfruitful tree, and in Luke we see a similar parable of a man planting a tree that doesn't bear fruit as it should. While all three accounts are not of the same story, they all deal with a tree that should be producing fruit and has nothing to show for it.

In Matthew and Mark's accounts, the tree has leaves on it, meaning it has the appearance of health, but still no fruit is being produced. Multiple times in the Gospels we come across a challenge and expectation to bear fruit in our lives. We are not just to avoid withering away, or simply appearing healthy, but also to actually produce something in our lives.

We should examine ourselves to see if we're producing the fruit of a changed life, the fruit of making disciples, the fruit of reaching the lost.
