Jesus Over Your Future

Your future is not in your hands. Thank God for that! Your future is in the hands of the One who created you.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Did you know God has a plan specifically for you!? Psalm 139:16 (NIV) reminds us: “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” If you’re like me, that brings a lot of peace, because I no longer have to strive and worry that I’m responsible for having it all together or to will my own way into being. Rather, I get to rely daily on God’s leading and plan for my life, knowing that He has good plans.

Romans 8:28 (NIV) reminds us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This doesn’t mean we get to sit back and do nothing; instead, we get to live life actively following Jesus. Each day, we go after what God is leading us in, and we do it with passion and grace. We steward what God places in our lives and trust that where He is leading is for our good!

One of my favorite verses on following Jesus is Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Every day we wake up, we have a choice. We can trust God’s plan or our plan. Choose wisely and remember Jesus is over your future.
