Horizon Church August + September Bible Reading Plan - the Gospel in Motion: Luke & Actsనమూనా

Introduction to the Gospel of Luke
The Gospel of Luke offers a detailed, orderly account of the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Written by Luke, a physician and companion of the Apostle Paul, this book is addressed to “Theophilus” and aims to give certainty about the things believers have been taught (Luke 1:1-4). Luke presents Jesus as the compassionate Son of Man who came to seek and save the lost, with a particular focus on the poor, the outcast, and those on the margins.
What sets Luke apart is his careful attention to historical detail, his emphasis on prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit, and his inclusion of unique parables such as the Good Samaritan and the Prodigal Son. Luke’s Gospel is the first of a two-part work, followed by the Book of Acts, which continues the story through the birth and growth of the early Church.
As you read, watch how Jesus welcomes those others reject, speaks truth with authority, and walks faithfully toward the cross. Luke invites us to see Jesus clearly and to respond with faith, repentance, and joyful obedience.
We encourage you to invite a friend or your Life Group and journey through this plan together! It’s always encouraging to explore Scripture together and share what God is teaching you. Plus, having others by your side can bring fresh perspectives and deeper insights!

Luke and Acts are two parts of one story, written by Luke to show how Jesus began His work and how it continued through the early Church. Luke tells of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, while Acts follows the Spirit-empowered mission of His followers. Together, they reveal God’s plan to bring salvation to all people. As you read, expect to encounter Jesus and be inspired to live boldly for His Kingdom.
