Encountering Jesus

DISCOVER:

Today we reflect on several passages that conclude the many lessons we have learned this week. In Matthew 4:4, we are reminded that the Word of God not only motivates us but also equips us for service. Jesus' words, "He who abides in me, and I in him bears much fruit for apart from me you can do nothing," underscores the fundamental truth that our ability to serve God effectively hinges on our connection to Him through His Word. We must abide in Christ to bear fruit in His service.

LEARN:

It is essential to recognize that you can be busy for Christ and still lack the right attitude. Jeremiah 15:16 and Psalm 119:103-104 convey the idea that your service should never be a mere substitute for your devotion to the Lord. The joy you find in His Word should not be overshadowed by your actions. Just as Martha was preoccupied with her work and lost sight of worshiping Jesus, we can also become workaholics, valuing what we do over our vertical fellowship with the Lord. The sweetness of God's words should remain central in our hearts.

APPLY:

As you reflect on these verses, consider how you can serve Jesus with a heart of devotion this week. Identify one heartfelt action that reveals your commitment to Him. Whether it is a small act of kindness, a moment of deep prayer, or a deliberate act of service, let it be an expression of your love for the One who empowers you to bear fruit in His name. In your service, may you continually nurture your relationship with Christ through His Word and find joy in His presence.
