Have you ever gone through an obstacle course with a blindfold on? Imagine how difficult it would be to walk through obstacles, trip on barriers, run into things, and slam into walls because you couldn’t see what was coming. Now imagine walking through an obstacle course still blindfolded but with a trustworthy voice guiding you through each and every step. This is a little bit like the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised us. Before Jesus left earth, He promised His disciples that they would not be left without a guide and that the Father would send a Counselor, the Holy Spirit, who would be with them forever. God promises us this same Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the grave three days later is the same Holy Spirit who lives in those who believe in Jesus. Can you believe that? It is mindblowing! People who believe in Jesus and put their trust in Him have access to the same life-giving power, the Holy Spirit, who resurrected Jesus. This gift is the best gift Jesus could have ever given us. When his physical body on earth left to go be with the Father in heaven, He left one who is even closer than someone we could walk with, talk with, or touch. If we believe, the Holy Spirit lives inside of us, and He gives us power. Because of the Holy Spirit, we can be filled with peace instead of anxiety, courage instead of fear, and boldness instead of timidity. Pray this prayer today: Holy Spirit, thank You for guiding me through every step of life. Thank You for living in me and giving me the same power that raised Jesus from the grave. Let me be a vessel for Your power to work in and through my life. Amen.
