Day Six - I Honour Others Welcome to this devotional for kids!  Our ‘UP’ series is inspired by our ‘We Will Elevate’ DNA - We practise showing kindness to those around us and never leave anyone out. We value others the way God values us by being a good friend and listener, respecting our leaders and parents, and choosing to always see the good in others. During this series we want to truly grasp what it means to honour and elevate those around us - not just those who seem to be popular or are the most important in our lives, but to remember that God wants us to ‘take delight in honouring each other’ that means everyone! Follow along as we truly grasp what it means to honour and elevate those around us! READ: A Hole in the Roof in any children's Bible or Matthew 9:1-8 The friends in this story didn’t have a stretcher or a wheelchair. They used their strength and what they had to carry their friend! God can use you when you bring what you have with a willing heart. ASK: There are many stories in the Bible that show how God can use something little and multiply it! When we trust God and bring whatever we have He will use it! Start today by writing a list of all the things that God has given you - it might be things you can use like pens and paper, it could be family or friends that God has given you, or simply the things that you are grateful for. Can you think about some ways that you can use the things that God has given you? One of the things that you might not have thought about is time - every day is a gift from God so maybe you can use your time in a better way? Instead of watching TV or playing video games you could make something for someone, or spend time with your family. What ways do you think you can use your time in a way that will be pleasing to God? God places things into our hands that we can choose to honour Him with! Let’s make the choice today to honour Him with all that we have! REMEMBER: Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other. (Romans 12:10) SAY: Jesus, you show us how to be kind, No greater love will we find. Your deep love that gives us great value, Growing us as we learn more about you. Our friend, our saviour, our kind teacher, Helping us see the good in each other.
