JESUS MEETS HIS MOTHER
Love is the most powerful emotion in the world. It's fair to say that the love between a mother and a child is perhaps one of the strongest. When Jesus saw his mother standing within reach of His voice as He made His way to Calvary carrying the cross, He saw the pain and anguish of a mother about to lose her son.
Jesus, even in his last moments, was able to look lovingly on others. He showed deep love and concern for his mother's wellbeing and entrusted her to the care of John, His beloved disciple. Jesus ordered John to take care of His mother as though he were her son. What forgetfulness of self! What filial love!
Let's be sure to show selfless acts of love to those around us, our families, friends, neighbors, and especially strangers. That's what Jesus did, and that's what He commands us to do.
