It has been said that “true character is revealed in the choices a human being makes under pressure…”. 

In Acts 24, Paul is under extreme pressure. The high priest along with other Jewish leaders are interrogating him with the mind to sentence him to death. Knowing what it was like to be an accuser, Paul now finds himself as the accused. In his moment of pressure, Paul reveals the source of his inner strength, the Gospel. He does not waver in his faith and is uncompromising in his declaration of the truth. 

The same boldness is available to us all through the Holy Spirit. With God, it can become normal for us to find the strength we need in moments of extreme pressure. This truth gives us the boldness not to hide but rather to keep on speaking - knowing that our God is an ever present help in times of need.
