God’s Word is like a mirror, showing us our true selves. God is aware of our worst tendencies. In mercy, he shows his people how to live in a way that reflects his own character, not in a way that pursues selfish desires. And that includes loving others.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the way your laws are built on love. Help me to grow in joyful obedience to your Word.
