## The Voice of God One of the best decisions we (the Benhams) ever made in our lives was to commit to reading the Bible cover to cover every year. We had just received full-ride baseball scholarships to Liberty University, but before we left, we were challenged by a coach to read through the Bible each year of school. We did it and have been doing it ever since. That was 25 years ago! Studying Scripture like this has literally shaped the way we view the world. It’s like watching the same movie over and over, and each time through—we discover more fascinating things we had never seen before. God encouraged the Israelites through the prophet Jeremiah, “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” We can attest to the truth of this verse. God speaks to His children in many ways, but primarily, and this is where you need to keep your ear attuned—He speaks through the Scripture. That’s the starting part. When you’re praying about something specific, use the Word of God as a guiding post. Studying the Bible daily gives you a solid grid through which you can filter all of your decisions. A few months ago, I (Jason) needed to have my phone fixed, so I went to the manufacturer’s website to find the phone number to call. The website took me through a series of questions before they would reveal the number. They asked me what the problem was and if I had consulted their technical support page. When I typed in my question, it pointed me to a page where the answer to my problem was spelled out very clearly. The Bible, with all it’s fascinating stories and powerful principles, is our technical support manual to help us keep on the right track. Our primary way of knowing His will is through His Word. > So, keep with this 30-Day Challenge! Don’t give up!
