A CRY FROM THE CROSS 2

The alarm sounds in the Fire Station. The fireman steps into his gear just as he is. This man who was eating congee and discussing football a moment before is now in uniform ready to face any challenges. With the uniform comes a consciousness of responsibility and a willingness to face whatever.

His mind is not on yesterday or tomorrow, but on the task at hand. Two men hung on crosses next to Jesus. One sought Jesus’s power to escape. The other took the opportunity to reflect. He turned to Jesus pleading, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into Your kingdom.’

Jesus put more living into His ‘todays’ than anyone. Yet, the secret to discovering the fullness of life in Christ is learning to face each moment in Christ. Only then will we begin to understand what He implants in the words ‘with me.’ Our awareness of the presence of our Lord, in any circumstance, brings a taste of paradise.

• Do you need to quit rehearsing yesterday and stop worrying about tomorrow so you can find the fullness of Jesus today?
• How can you remind yourself you are in Christ throughout your day?

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive me for spending so much time trying to live in the wrong moment. Such living costs me Your presence in this moment. Open the eyes of my heart to You right now.
