MOTION X: Living In MOTION

In 1519, Hernan Cortés  landed in the New World with 600 soldiers. They traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to conquer the Americas. Immediately after his troops landed, he ordered his men to burn their boats. Though this request seemed radical, Cortés understood one important principle: in order to continue to move forward, you have to forget what you are leaving behind. Turning back cannot be an option!

The apostle Paul wrote about this same truth in Philippians 3. He openly admits that he is not perfect, but he does promise one thing: he is moving forward and not turning back. His focus was ahead of him and not behind him. Each of us have sin, struggles, or past mistakes that will try to hold us back. Just like Paul, we have to forget what is behind and focus on what is ahead. Going all in does not mean always getting it right. Going all in means always moving forward.

Go all in with your time with God. Do not try to read the whole Bible or pray for lengthy amounts of time, but simply aim to spend time with God. Go all in with your friendships. Find friends who will push you closer to God and not pull you away from Him. Finally, go all in with your leadership. Find one person in your life that you can love, hug, share Jesus with, or build a friendship with and watch what God will do.
