I Am Happy: Finding Joy in Who God Says I Amනියැදිය

I Am Created to Bless Others
Happiness shrinks when life becomes all about us. The world tells us to focus on personal success, comfort, and the next thing that will make us feel good. But the more self-focused we become, the more joy slips through our fingers. We were never made to be the center of our lives.
Scripture reveals a better purpose:
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10 NIV
God didn’t just save you – He gave you a mission. You are handcrafted with intention, wired to reflect His love in the world. When you bless others, you are living your design, and you are blessed in return:
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35 NIV
Take note that “blessed” means deeply happy – the kind of joy that lasts. Jesus knew the secret behind real happiness: joy grows when we share it.
We all know the feeling. Helping a friend move. Encouraging someone who is discouraged. Giving up time or resources for someone’s good. There’s a warmth in those moments that material things can’t match.
Why? Because generosity disconnects us from the world’s exhausting message that everything is about us. Instead, we get to participate in what God is doing – and there is no deeper fulfillment.
“Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” – Proverbs 11:25 NIV
Pouring out does not drain you – it opens the flow for God to pour more joy in.
This isn’t just about charity. It includes everyday kindness:
- noticing someone who feels alone
- listening without distraction
- offering encouragement
- praying for someone hurting
- choosing patience instead of irritation
These small, hidden acts of love shape a big, visible life of joy.
Jesus described it this way:
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 NIV
When you let God’s love move through you, your joy becomes a witness. People begin to wonder what makes your life different. They get a glimpse of the God who gives joy. And you discover a happiness that external circumstances cannot take away.
Your life is not an accident. You are here on purpose – for a purpose. God has prepared people for you to bless, and joy is waiting in those moments. When you wake up each day asking, “Lord, how can I be a blessing today?” you unlock a life bigger than your own needs.
In Christ, your identity is secure and your joy is real. He delights to use your life in ways that bless others and bring Him glory.
You can say with confidence: I am happy – because I am created to bless others.
Take Time to Reflect
- When was a recent moment when blessing someone else brought you joy?
- Who could you serve or encourage in a simple way this week?
- How would your happiness grow if you woke up each day expecting God to use you?
