A Grateful Heartනියැදිය

Being Grateful
There are certain days we name, making them extra special. That’s the case with "Thanksgiving Day." I know many say that every day is a day to give thanks, and there's no doubt they are right, but it's nice to see humanity consciously choose to set aside time to thank God.
Truthfully, we need the reminder because life’s circumstances, when they are difficult and tough, tend to make us forget all the things, both big and small, we should be grateful for. The psalmist, aware of this, tells his own soul: “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Psalm 103:2 (NIV)
David leads his soul to highlight those benefits, recognize them, and be thankful for them. “Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:2–5 (NIV)
Difficulties insist on getting our attention; they want the first place and try to push the blessings—the ones our soul should rejoice in—into a dark corner. When God's Word tells us to "give thanks in all circumstances," it’s leading us to recognize what Paul says in Romans 8:28 (NIV), "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
It's not easy, but it is God's advice, so we must look up to the Lord every day, recognizing His goodness and mercy toward us. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)
Perhaps we long for our Thanksgiving celebrations of previous years and miss the big family gatherings, the fun, the laughter, and the food. But one thing hasn't changed at all: Our God. He remains the same; He is unchanging. May our thanks and our continuous worship be directed to Him.
Let’s hold onto the hope that we will celebrate again, not just like before, but much better! I'm sure we will deeply value the blessing of being together again, and our hearts will overflow with immense joy.
