Church

Why church? Why do I need to attend church? As stated before, the church is the place where you can stand firm in your faith, get plugged in so you can shine your light and stand strong against the wiles of the devil and the storms of life. The Church is the community of believers joined together. Church is so much more than the building where Christians gather every Sunday. Church actually has very little to do with the building. It is where you discover other people with similar stories to yours. Church is the place where you meet new friends who become family. Church is where you discover your gifts, talents, and even your purpose in life.

Church helps you to always grow in your faith and to help others grow in their faith as well. Jesus never intended for us to follow Him alone; Jesus wanted a community that reaches out to one another and those around them. Now, I do have to say, no church is a perfect church. And the image you might have had of the church before might not be an accurate one. A lot of churches have hurt people before, and people have turned away from God because of that. But I beseech you that you will please not form an idea or concept of God based on how other people have misrepresented Him.

When you are looking for a church close to you to attend, my suggestion is that you look for a church that has:

• ·Good and solid biblical teachings
• ·Worship that enables you to encounter God
• ·People who are friendly and whose lives encourage you to grow as a Christian

The church is more than just a ministry; the church, according to the Bible, is the very Bride of Christ. The church is being washed by Jesus so we can be presented to Him with all purity and holiness. The church is the group of people that God wants to use to make Himself known in this world.
