Living in God’s Peace: A 12-Day Journey Through Scriptureනියැදිය

Our Gift of Peace to Others
Our world is full of noise, ads, clicks, pings, and interruptions. Everything about our normal day is abnormal for a life intentionally lived in the shalom- peace of God. In this passage from Chronicles, we learn that the catalyst for a life marked by wisdom, rest, freedom, and peace is quietness and tranquility.
Consider David’s life. All he and Israel had known was bloodshed and conflict. David was promised that his son Solomon would rule a kingdom known for its peace. In verse 9, a triple promise appears: Solomon would be a man and leader of rest, not conflict. Furthermore, peace and quietness (shalom and shaqat) would be the experience of all Israel under his leadership.
Ask yourself: Like Solomon, do I bring peace, rest, and security to those around me? Or am I an agent of conflict? May we seek quietness and tranquility with the Lord moment by moment and then share it with those around us.

The story of the Bible is the story of peace. But peace isn’t simply a feeling of calm or ease. It is a way of experiencing life as we were always meant to, in relationship with our Creator and with each other. We can recover a completeness that was once lost but is restored in the gospel. Experience peace with God as you meditate on this important theme of Scripture. In this journey, you will find the encouragement you need to live out of the wholeness you have in Christ—and be equipped to share that peace with others.
