Unleashed to Have Lasting Kingdom Impact

Advancing God’s kingdom agenda means intentionally committing your time, talents, and treasures to the revelation of His will on earth. It means living out “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10, NASB1995). As kingdom followers, we are specifically designated to serve heaven’s interests in the midst of a secular, declining and evil society.

The kingdom responsibility handed to Jesus to manifest on earth was shared with His followers. As His followers, we also have the ability to tap into His kingdom authority and unleash it in our lives (see 1 Peter 2:1-10). We have been chosen to reflect and represent God’s kingdom on earth under His rule and sovereignty. When you and I do that, we unleash all He has in store to support the advancement of His kingdom.

When you realize you are chosen, appointed and supplied with all you need to carry out God’s kingdom authority on earth, it ought to change your perspective not only toward yourself but also toward your circumstances. We are always to operate in this world according to our identity in Jesus Christ (see Galatians 2:20). Whatever gets in the way of your honoring Christ and His kingdom principles becomes an impediment to unleashing His presence in your life. We are to live as Christians first.

You are a citizen of heaven on a visa to earth (see Philippians 3:20). As a citizen of heaven, your allegiance is to God. When the culture’s priorities disagree or conflict with God’s priorities, you are to pursue God’s priorities. You will only unleash God’s power both in and through you when you align yourself under His overarching rule. Make no mistake about it, your feet are to be firmly planted in the ground as you live your life, but your mind, soul and spirit are to get life instructions from heaven. Jesus Christ and His kingdom are to transcend all else on earth, and this starts with kingdom representatives obediently following Him in their everyday existence.

You are a kingdom disciple living as a kingdom servant while making a kingdom impact that will resonate throughout all time. You are to be a proclaimer of Christ. A more contemporary term would be kingdom influencer. You are to use your status, time, talents and treasures to influence others for God’s glory and the greater good of all. You are an ambassador of the kingdom of heaven. Heaven’s values are to inform your words, worldview, concepts and actions. To acquiesce to the culture negates the purpose and effectiveness of your true role.

How much of God’s kingdom power are you unleashing in your life? God equips and provides for those who live according to His purposes. When your Christianity is visible, when you live thankfully and share Jesus with love, compassion and sensitivity, you’ll effect change—at the same time standing for what you know to be true. You are not to be ashamed of the gospel.

As a kingdom representative, Jesus has paid the price for your service. He doesn’t want you serving Him with a bad attitude or a complaining spirit. Living as a kingdom influencer requires you to reflect His image to others. When you do that, He will empower you to be seen and recognized by others as His follower. His kingdom power is closer to you than you may think. He’s given you the insight into what it takes to access it.

Prayer

Lord, whatever it takes, I ask that my life would have a lasting kingdom impact. I want to serve You with a thankful attitude, putting Your agenda before my own. Align my will with Yours and empower me to be Your representative. Jesus gave everything for me to serve in His kingdom; I want to give everything to be seen and recognized as His follower. Thank You for empowering me to serve You. Amen.
