What You Earn Isn't Who You Areනියැදිය

Day 3. When You Feel Overlooked
You may feel overlooked at work, watching others earn more while you carry heavy loads. The Bible reminds you where real security lies—not in money, but in God’s promise never to abandon you.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, ‘I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.’ Let us be bold, then, and say,
‘The Lord is my helper,
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5–6 GNT)
The believers who first heard this had lost homes, jobs, and even lives because of their faith. Yet they were told: contentment is not found in money, but in God’s unshakable presence.
You may not control your paycheck, but you can control what you trust. Employers can overlook you. Markets can turn. But God’s promise stands: “I will never leave you.” That is wealth no one can take.
Contentment doesn’t mean giving up—it means refusing to let money define your worth. It means working hard with integrity, while resting in the truth that God is your helper. Fear loses its grip when you know you’re not alone.
Prayer
Lord, I confess that I often look to money for the security only you can give. I compare myself to others, and resentment begins to take root. Forgive me for letting my trust shift to paychecks or possessions. Anchor me in your promise: you will never leave or abandon me. Teach me contentment, strengthen me against envy, and make me bold to say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” Amen.
