Jesus: The True Light of the Worldනියැදිය

When you hear the word "light," you automatically think about darkness too. The darkness of the world is very evident right now. We are the most technologically advanced society. Many of our problems should have been solved. But we live in darkness.
The world is in "polycrisis," with many things happening at the same time. The leaders of the world are looking at it, asking, "Is there anything that can be done?" One business consultant I know says it’s true that you cannot solve the world’s problems all at once. I usually say, "You’ve got to see the world as a whole, and what a hole it is!"
In Isaiah 60:1, one of the descriptions of the world is that we are sunk in darkness. We are deep in darkness. Wrapped in darkness. All people are in a hole of darkness.
We need true light, we need full light, we need real light.
But then, we also have darkness on the inside. We have a constitutional, congenital defect of spiritual blindness, caused by sin. We are in the dark, living in it, and we still cannot see.
Think for a moment about the worst cases of human depravity you’ve seen in the latest news cycles. We all like to think we’re not that bad. But we need to remember we are capable of all of that darkness. Blindness is both an external situation and an internal situation.
Is there the possibility of true light, of full light, of real light to shine in this darkness? Tomorrow we will examine what the apostle John said about the true Light that has come into the world.
